Travel Safely, Travel Healthy

Personal Health is often overlooked during the rush to get ready for travel. Our bodies must adjust to new time schedules, new foods, and a new environment. This is why we offer a travel clinic, to help you prepare for travel.

The 2 most important tips for travel safety:

1. Food and Water Safety

  1. Use canned, bottled, or carbonated beverages.
  2. Steaming hot beverages, beer, and wine are generally safe. Avoid ice cubes.
  3. Avoid brushing teeth with tap water or swallowing water during showers.
  4. Avoid shellfish, some fish, unpasteurized milk & dairy, and raw meats.
  5. Avoid freshwater swimming, bathing, or wading.
2. Mosquito Safety
  1. Keep skin covered with clothing; avoid outdoors at dusk.
  2. Use flying insect spray in unscreened living and sleeping areas at night.
  3. Soak or spray clothing in PERMETHRIN (insect repellent) if in high mosquito areas.
