HEALTH EDUCATION AND PROMOTION
The Elyria City Health District Public Health Nurses teach a variety of classes to the community and business sector. Topics include but are not limited to: shaken baby syndrome, Eat Well Play Hard education classes, physical activity, bloodborne pathogens, CPR, communicable diseases and travel education, as well as infant growth and development classes.
Registered Sanitarians deliver public health presentations that include information on Avian Flu, Are You Ready? (Emergency Preparedness) , Lead safety, proper car seat installation and bike helmet safety.
The health educator also teaches community education classes that cover health topics such as proper hand washing techniques, nutrition, as well as the harmful effects of tobacco and smoking.
As time progresses, a variety of new programs will be available for viewing on this page.
