School Dental Sealant

The Elyria City Health District has obtained a grant from the Ohio Department of Health to provide free dental sealants to  2nd and 6th grade children who attend certain schools in Lorain County that meet elgibility requirements.

Currently our dental hygenist and assistant are conducting the program in a total of 23 such schools in the county.  The participating school districts include:  Elyria City Schools, Lorain City Schools, Clearview Schools and Oberlin City Schools.

The program consists of an initial screening conducted by a dentist followed by application of the sealant by the hygenist.  A follow-up visit by the hygenist is made at a later date to ensure that the sealants remain in place.
